Dare to Bloom worldwide
Preserved roses have long been admired for their beauty and longevity, yet for many florists, incorporating them into floral designs remained a challenge.
Dare to Bloom was born from a desire to change this perception, demonstrating the boundless creativity that preserved roses can bring to floral artistry. What began as a bold initiative in the United States has now grown into an international phenomenon, showcasing Ecuador’s preserved roses on a global stage.
The Beginning:
The first edition of Dare to Bloom took place in 2021 across four key states in the U.S.: New York, Miami, Dallas, and Los Angeles. Each location partnered with a wholesale distributor, bringing together 10 designers per city to compete in creative floral challenges. After an intense round of competitions, the winners from each state advanced to the grand finale in Miami, hosted by Logistik Alliance. Renowned judges, including Deborah De La Flor and Anthony Maslow, evaluated the contestants, ultimately crowning Rachel Clark from New York as the first-ever Dare to Bloom champion.
The Beginning:
In 2022, Dare to Bloom expanded to Europe, taking place at the prestigious Fleuramour Festival in Belgium under the theme Be Part of the Magic. This edition, known as Dare to Fly, challenged floral designers to create wearable wings using preserved flowers. The competition’s artistic level was unprecedented, revealing the limitless possibilities of preserved floral designs.
Following Belgium, the competition soared to Estonia in early 2023, where it was held at the esteemed National Museum. Ten talented florists crafted breathtaking floral wings, each bringing their unique vision to life. The European winners then advanced to a global showdown against the U.S. champions, further elevating Dare to Bloom as a premier floral competition.
The Beginning:
In 2024, Dare to Bloom returned to its roots, bringing the competition to Ecuador, the birthplace of the world’s finest preserved roses. This edition took a unique approach by merging floral artistry with fashion, creating The First Floral Fashion Show. Five talented Ecuadorian designers were selected to craft haute couture gowns made entirely of preserved roses. These exquisite designs debuted at EXPOFLORES 2024, dazzling audiences and showcasing Ecuador’s rich floral heritage and creative talent.
The Beginning:
Later in 2024, Dare to Bloom captivated audiences in Croatia with a creative showcase that blended floral design, fashion, and art. This edition further emphasized the versatility of preserved roses, proving their ability to transcend traditional floral arrangements and become an integral part of artistic expression.
Throughout its journey, Dare to Bloom has not only demonstrated the artistic potential of preserved roses but has also highlighted the incredible diversity of our preserved rose color palette. Supported by our wholesale partners in every participating country, the competition has received overwhelming enthusiasm, sparking excitement for future editions. Florists, industry professionals, and even the general public have been captivated by the beauty, durability, and quality of our Ecuadorian preserved roses.
As Dare to Bloom continues to grow, one thing remains certain: the world of floral design is evolving, and preserved roses are at the heart of this transformation. Are you ready to accept the challenge?
